Pakistan’s wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan and pacer Naseem Shah starred in Comilla Victorians’ victory over Khulna Tigers on Saturday during the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) in Sylhet.

After Tigers won the toss and decided to bowl first, Victorians posted 165-2 in their allotted 20 overs.

Openers Litton Das, 50 runs off 42 balls, and Rizwan, unbeaten 54 runs in 47 balls, did the bulk of the scoring by notching up fifties.

Meanwhile, Johnson Charles played a breezy knock of 39 runs in 22 balls with the help of five sixes.

For Tigers, Wahab Riaz and Nahidul Islam claimed one wicket each.

While chasing the 166-run target, the Tigers were restricted to 161-6 in 20 overs and lost the match by four runs.

Naseem dismissed Tamim Iqbal, 11 off 10, in his first spell to provide his side with an early breakthrough. The Pakistani speedster also cleaned up Shai Hope in the penultimate over of the innings after the latter had scored 33 runs in 32 balls.

The Pakistan quick ended with figures of 2-29 in four overs.

The Victorians are currently in third place on the points table with 10 points after eight games. On the other hand, the Tigers are in fifth place with four points after seven games.

Fortune Barishal are at the top of table with 12 points after eight matches.

It must be noted that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has said that it has recalled the players from the BPL, who will be playing the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season eight, due to the request of the franchises.

The players have been advised to return home on February 2, eleven days before the PSL 8 begins in Multan.
